The finalists are required to present a unique and breakthrough study, research, venture,  idea, or business model to a senior panel of judges from academia, the business world, and the government.

The competition is for individuals and therefore teams who apply must pick a representative.

Duration of the presentation: 3 minutes. The presentation will be held in English.

Falling Walls is an international competition that promotes groundbreaking ideas and connects entrepreneurs, researchers and scientists in various fields worldwide.

The competition consists of two stages: a local competition, the Lab, where one local representative is chosen to represent their country in the global finals. The second competition is the Global Finals where the winner of the Israel Lab competes with Lab winners from around the globe.

The winner of the Lab is invited to present their venture at the grand finale of the Falling Walls conference in Berlin, in front of hundreds of guests including Nobel prize winners, entrepreneurs, researchers, executives from prestigious research institutes, investors, enterprise representatives, government officials, etc’.

Aside from winning, the competition is a significant and effective platform for nominees to present themselves and their ventures. This exposure does not end at the competition and is continuous for months/years after.

The competition is open to students of all academic institutes and all degrees as well as to graduate students, faculty members, entrepreneurs and young industrialists.In order to apply, you are required to meet one the following conditions:

The JLM IMPACT Innovation Consortium is based on a partnership of the top 3 Jerusalem academic institutions: The Hebrew University, Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and Azrieli College of Engineering.
